Welcome!
As you arrive at the church, you will be welcomed by one of our friendly Ushers, who will give you a paper service bulletin to take into church with you. The bulletin tells you all you need to know about how to follow the service.
At the 8am Sunday service you will also use the Book of Common Prayer which you will find in the pews in front of you (the paper bulletin tells you which pages to look at).
Where Do I Sit?
Wherever you like! If you like to see and hear a little better, then sit nearer to the front and center. If you’d rather sit and watch from the back at first, that’s fine too.
If you have children or young people with you we suggest you sit at least a little nearer to the front, where they can see and hear more of what is going on, and are often able to become more interested in what is happening. Families are welcome at St. Francis, and we love seeing kids in church. See below…
What’s the Dress Code?
There isn’t one! Wear whatever you are comfortable in. Most people wear something that is a little less casual than they might do for going to the beach, or cleaning out the garage, but it really is up to you. If you’ve been doing either of those things, and don’t have time to change – then just come anyway. For Christmas and Easter many people like to dress up a bit more.
What about the kids?
Children of all ages are always welcome in our services. We have activity bags for them to take into the service if you and they wish.
If you would prefer, nursery care is available for babies through 3 years old, and for pre-K through 5th grade, take advantage of our Sunday School, which will build their faith, and deepen their sense of the Holy.
Just ask an Usher for help and directions to the appropriate room. You and your child(ren) will be warmly welcomed and helped to settle.
